HAUSER & WIRTH

CASE STUDY

CHALLENGE

IC Insight Communications was hired to assist the leading art powerhouse in its communication efforts on the French market.

OUR WORK

We worked on the opening of the Chillida-Leku Museum in San Sebastian and have actively supported Hauser & Wirth in their rich exhibition programme featured at FIAC, Paris Photo, Art Basel Miami, artgenève, Frieze Los Angeles and ARCO – with a solo display of rare life-time prints by August Sander at Paris Photo, a solo both of Avery Singer at Frieze Los Angeles,  Eduardo Chillida at ARCO – in addition to promoting their international gallery schedule: Calder in St Moritz, Jenny Holzer and Picasso through the lens of David Duncan in Gstaad, as well as Isa Genzken and Alina Szapocznikow in London, among others. Other campaigns included Lucio Fontana and Nicolas Party at Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles, the gallery’s online viewing room at Art Basel Hong Kong and the opening of Hauser & Wirth’s new  New York gallery by Annabelle Selldorf planned for fall 2020.

A main focus consisted in supporting Hauser & Wirth’s digital engagement program, including the launch of Dispatches, a new series of original videos, online features, digital exhibitions, and experiences. Furthermore, we launched ArtLab the gallery’s research and innovation arm exploring projects at the intersection of art and technology, including a digital residency program for artists. ArtLab was formed to create bespoke technological solutions for the most pressing issues in the art world, including greater accessibility and sustainability. ArtLab unveiled its first initiative – a new Virtual Reality (VR) exhibition modelling tool called HWVR. Its first entirely VR-based exhibition will take place in a gallery site of the future, Hauser & Wirth Menorca. This exhibition will allow visitors a coveted online preview of the art centre they will be able to visit when it opens in 2021.

Our campaigns have generated ongoing high-profile features and reviews in all the leading French art, dailies and lifestyle publications such as Le Monde, Le Figaro, Les Echos Série Limitée, Le Point, The Art Newspaper France, Le Journal des Arts, Le Quotidien de l’Art, Artravel, AD Magazine, Air France Madame, Numéro, Ideat among others and further consolidated Hauser & Wirth’s leadership and reputation for excellence and innovation. Our constant collaboration with the in-house Communications team and the Management has ensured a seamless and cohesive communication programme and high end visibility.
