TAI PING

CASE STUDY

CHALLENGE

The House of Tai Ping is a pioneer and international design leader in customised rugs and textile floor coverings, headquartered in Hong Kong, with its European headquarters in Paris and counting fourteen showrooms across the USA, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Tai Ping has remained at the forefront of rug manufacturing since 1956, combining the know-how perpetuated by generations of skilled designers and craftspeople with bespoke service, fully-integrated manufacturing processes and technical excellence. Its commissions range from spectacular residential collaborations with leading international designers, to luxury boutiques and hospitality, palaces, yachts and aviation. Tai Ping appointed IC Insight Communications to handle their press and public relations activities in France and Italy, aimed at building visibility and brand awareness. A particular emphasis was to be placed on its exceptional know-how, the presentation of new collections and the launch of its new Milan showroom.

OUR WORK

Our long-standing relationships to top tier media and extensive experience in developing storytelling in luxury, architecture, art and design allowed us to deliver on these objectives. We identified and developed story pitches based on our deep knowledge of the media landscape with captivating narratives built around Tai Ping’s history, its collaborations with leading designers and its exceptional craftsmanship. Our team provided proactive and individualized media outreach, assisting in the preparation of press materials adapted to local requirements. We organized tailor-made events and ongoing presentations of collections in Tai Ping’s showrooms in Paris and Milan.

RESULTS

We successfully increased brand awareness and high visibility for Tai Ping in both markets. A multi-channel communications strategy secured high-impact brand features, ongoing product placement PR and coverage of collaborations and new collections. Our efforts established and strengthen relationships between the brand, editors and industry players at the most effective levels.

We supported the pre-opening exhibition of the Raw Collection by Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance at Tai Ping’s Milan showroom in April 2019 during the Salone del Mobile.

In Tai Ping’s European headquarters at the Hotel de Livry on Rue de L’Université in Paris, we presented the Kiso collection developed in collaboration with iconic design duo Yabu Pushelberg. Through seasonal collection presentations, we showcased the brand and highlighted the attraction of Tai Ping’s spectacular showrooms for industry players and leading journalists.
